Individual/Group Psychotherapy
Individual and group psychotherapy are two common forms of treatment used to address mental health issues and promote mental health. Below is a brief overview of each:
Individual psychotherapy: Also known as one-on-one therapy, this involves the therapist working directly with a single client. The therapist and client develop a confidential and collaborative therapeutic relationship in which the client can explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a safe and supportive environment. Individualized therapy allows for individualized attention and tailored interventions that are specifically tailored to meet the client's unique needs and goals.
Group Psychotherapy: Group psychotherapy involves the therapist working with a small group of people who have similar concerns or goals. Group therapy provides a supportive and interactive environment where participants can share experiences, gain insights and learn from each other. It provides a sense of belonging, recognition and social support as individuals realize they are not alone in their struggles. Group therapy is especially beneficial for individuals who want to improve their interpersonal communication skills, develop empathy and receive feedback from others.
