How do I know if my child/I need a psychological evaluation? If your child is struggling in any of the following areas and you are unsure how to help, a psychological evaluation will help get to the root of the problem. We will help you understand your child's strengths and weaknesses and provide you with a plan of action for home and/or school Behavioral problems or changes at home or school Prenatal exposure to drugs/alcohol or other toxins (e.g. mold, carbon monoxide, lead) Medical issues History of trauma Failure of psychotherapy Failure to meet IEP goals Brain injury/concussion Speech and Language Difficulties Learning difficulties Attention or concentration problems

Is psychotherapy the same as pouring out my heart?Psychotherapy is a type of therapy that is conducted through talking. However, unlike normal talking, psychotherapists will systematically discuss the causes and symptoms of mental health problems with you based on theories and research findings. The therapy process focuses on participants' understanding of their own emotions and thoughts, and they will work together to set goals and plan how to make changes. Therefore, psychotherapy may include sharing, but not just talking.

How much does a psychological evaluation cost? What is included in the fee?Normally, our fees are charged on an hourly basis, approximately HK$2800 for the first 60 minutes for new cases and HK$2200 for follow-ups of old cases. Depending on each patient's condition, we may recommend different treatments or assessments. And costs vary. Please enquire about the cost of the different services we offer here, or contact us for more information.

It involves the application of psychological principles and research methods to legal issues and the criminal justice system. Forensic psychologists use their expertise to assist in a variety of civil and criminal matters within the justice system. Forensic psychologists play different roles in the legal system. Some of their main responsibilities include Psychological Evaluation: Evaluating mental health, ability to stand trial, risk assessment, and determining the presence of psychological disorders. Expert Testimony: Providing expert testimony in court to offer a professional opinion on psychological issues relevant to the case. This may include gaining insight into the psychological state of an individual involved in a legal proceeding or assessing the credibility of a witness. Professional Counseling: Counseling with legal professionals, such as attorneys, judges, law enforcement officers, etc., to provide psychological insight and guidance on legal matters. How do I know if I need forensic psychology services?Determining whether you need forensic psychology services depends on your specific situation and the legal or psychological issues you are facing. Here are some general considerations: 1. legal proceedings: If you are involved in a legal proceeding, such as a criminal case, civil lawsuit, or child custody dispute, you may benefit from forensic psychology services. 2. Mental Health Assessments: If you or someone you know is facing a mental health issue that intersects with the legal system, forensic psychology services may be helpful. A forensic psychologist can assess mental health, evaluate competency to stand trial, and provide insight into the psychological factors associated with the case. 3. Victim Support: If you have been a victim of a crime or trauma, a forensic psychologist can help with trauma recovery, provide expert testimony about the psychological impact of the crime, and guide you through the legal process. 4. Risk Assessment: If there are concerns about potential risks or threats, a forensic psychologist can conduct a risk assessment. This may be relevant in cases involving violence, stalking or assessing the likelihood of reoffending. 5. Correctional Facilities: Forensic psychologists can work with correctional facilities to provide mental health services, rehabilitation programs, and assessments of inmates.
